Paint It!
Paint It! is an ongoing painting competition run by Troll Forged Miniatures (TFM) to promote our miniature range and acquire photos of fan painted TFM miniatures for the store. Any of our customers are welcome to enter.
All miniatures with the 'Paint It!' tag are eligible for this painting competition. They are easy to spot as the photo of the miniature in the store is of the bare resin cast, and the orange 'Paint It!' tag is right under the photo. If you buy a tagged miniature from the store and paint it up, you can enter your finished work into the Paint It! competition thread on the TFM forum.
All you have to do is Join the TFM forum, post your photos of your glorious paint job, and the other members of TFM forum will judge if your efforts are worthy. If your photos are used by TFM you win a free mini of similar value to the one you purchased! The one caveat is that your chosen miniature also has to be eligible for the Paint It! competition.
Summery of submission process
- Buy a 'Paint It!' tagged miniature from TFM
- Paint it up to a 'pro' standard
- Join the TFM forum
- Post your photos in the 'Paint It!' thread
- If you win, pick another 'Paint It!' miniature, and get it free!
- You can enter as many as you like, even with a won mini!
- Win five times and get a special prize
Evaluation Period: The evaluation period starts as soon as the first photos of a painted (eligible) miniature are posted in the Paint It! thread. The evaluation period will run for ONE WEEK from the date of that post. If no one objects and no one else enters within the evaluation period you win.
Note: The Evaluation period does not start from the miniature's release date, it only starts when the first photos are posted in the Paint It! thread.
Example: A miniature is released, photos of the resins are posted on the store, along with a 'Paint It!' tag. 1 month goes by and no one paints the miniature. Then a newcomer submits a paint job to the Paint It! thread. The evaluation period starts. In the next week all mods and forge members get the opportunity to object or OK it. If everyone is happy then the newcomer's shots are used for the store.
Photos: Must be of high quality, well lit, and taken aginst a plain white background. Photos will be used for the store. Poor quality photos will result in the submission being rejected. Miniatures rejected for poor photos can be resubmitted with new (better) photos.
Strike Downs: If the mods of forge members do not like as submission they can 'strike it down'. The reason for the strike will be given in the thread (inc, 'bad photo'). If a submission is struck down everything resets, the submission is ignored.
If another member posts photos of the same miniature during the week long evaluation period, and neither are struck down, it goes to a death match.
Death Match: In the rare case where two entries are posted (or more than two!) and the community is not unanimous in their judgment - all entries are collected together into a time limited poll thread and voted on. The one with the most votes by the time the poll closes wins! Polls are usually one week. No new entries can be added to a death match poll once it has started.
In cases of a tie, all win, and all will be used.
Licence: By entering the Paint It! competition you are granting TFM (Troll Forged Miniatures) a perpetual world wide licence to reproduce your submitted photos on the web and in printed form for promotional purposes. You retain your copyright in the paint job, and TFM retains the copyright in the miniature.
HellSwords: Any successful submission that appears on the store, is usually accompanied with an invitation to join the HellSwords. The HellSwords are TFM painting elite, and entitles members to special offers and first picks of new releases.
The Final Word: Hive Trygon (Ed), the founder of TFM, has final say on all submissions - his judgment is final in all matters relating to this competition.
Good Luck from everyone at TFM!
